Winter Carnival would not be complete without the K-9 Keg Pull

CABIN FEVER?
We have a cure for that!

ARE YOU EXPERIENCING a bit of cabin fever? With spring still acouple months away, the Sandpoint Winter Carnival is the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy all the activities that take place from February 15 to February 26. With fun for all ages, the Winter Carnival has been celebrating the snowy season in style since 1973.

Presented by the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, the Business Improvement District and Schweitzer Mountain Resort, the tradition is one that locals and tourists always look forward to.

Kicking off the festivities on Valentine’s Day is a concert at the Hive featuring Lotus who will make their debut in Sandpoint for this special event. Other events throughout the 12 days include the Parade of Lights in downtown Sandpoint featuring floats, marching groups and more lighting up the beautiful streets of our downtown. The parade, sponsored by the Sandpoint Business Improvement District, is open to businesses, organizations and groups and there is no fee to participate, but pre registration is required.

Different venues throughout the downtown area will offer entertainment to the crowds throughout the Winter Carnival. MickDuff’s Beer Hall, Trinity at City Beach and Pend d’Oreille Winery are all hosting musical entertainment so be sure to check out the online schedule for dates and times.

Schweitzer Mountain Resort will also host many events on Saturday, February 18 and will end the weekend with the Let it Glow night parade and fireworks on Sunday, February 19 from 7 to 8pm.

On Saturday, February 25, you won’t want to miss the Weird Wonderful Winter Beerfest Pub Crawl from 2 to 6pm. And of course the Winter Carnival would not be complete without the K-9 Keg Pull. A favorite of many, this event closes out the Winter Carnival and takes place on Sunday, February 26 at 10am at the Granary.

These are just some of the many fun events scheduled for this year’s Winter Carnival. Check out the entire schedule at sandpointwintercarival.com/ events.
