Starting to experience a little cabin fever? The cure for that is coming soon as the Sandpoint Winter Carnival offers opportunities for all ages to get out and enjoy a variety of activities.
The events kicks off on Friday, February 16, with the Parade of Lights in Downtown Sandpoint. Beginning at 5:30pm at the City Parking Lot, the parade is a great opportunity for businesses, organizations and groups to get out and light up the night. While pre-registration with the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is required, there is no fee to participate.
On Saturday, head up to Schweitzer Mountain Resort for a full day of activities including a snowshoe hike, crafts for the kids and a village campfire. Enjoy live music at both Chimney Rock and Taps or head back to town and enjoy Harold’s IGA at The 219 Lounge.
Sunday, February 18, the fun continues with the Let it Glow Night Parade and Fireworks at Schweitzer Mountain along with another day filled with activities. It’s a spectacular event that you won’t want to miss.
Since February 19 is Presidents’ Day, there will be no excuse this year to miss the Annual 219 Party at The 219 Lounge. Beginning at 2:19pm (nosurprise), there will be drink specials for $2.19 including beer and cider specials with brewery representatives available from 7 to 10pm. Enjoy the non-smoking environment at the newly renovated 219 and live music from 8 to 11pm.
Finish off the 10-day carnival with events at Trinity at City Beach, the Weird and Wonderful Winter Pub Crawl, concerts at the Panida Theater and the Hive and of course one of the most popular events—The K9 Keg Pull on Sunday, February 25. There is much more to enjoy; just visit SandpointWinterCarnival.com/events for more information on all the events.
