The Bonner County Fair is something that’s looked forward to all year long. An excuse to eat deep-fried this and that, foods on a stick and a mountain of sweets, kids love the rides and games, adults enjoy the exhibits and everyone enjoys the livestock, barrel racing and live music. While this year promises to be another memorable one, be sure to save some room for excitement Saturday night, August 24, as metal meets metal during the demolition derby.
In a typical day, drivers do their best to avoid colliding, bumping or scratching others around them. The exact opposite is happening here. Brave drivers bring in their crunched-up yet somehow still-running cars, line each other up and smash into one another in hopes of being the last engine running at the end of the night. Most are in it for the glory, but there is a little bit of prize money on the line as well.
Doors for this increasingly popular event open at 6pm at the Fairgrounds’ Outdoor Arena. There is plenty of food and beverages inside, and the first crashes start happening at 7:30pm. Tickets are currently available at BonnerCountyFair.com and run $15 for adults and $10 for youth. Advanced tickets are $2 cheaper compared to gate prices. There are also pre-sale tickets available at businesses around town.
If you feel like getting your bell rung with the rest of the drivers, contact the Bonner County Fair directly for demo derby registration, otherwise spectators should get there early for the best seats in order to see the most twisted metal.
Enjoy all the fair has to offer in 2019, and make sure to include the demolition derby as a great ending exclamation point to your experience!Event Website:
